Identity: "Looking In & Out of Ourselves" … An Artist Book Presentation

(Joanna Faber)

Purpose

To combine ideas from the Queensland Study Authority Visual Arts Sourcebook Modules: Artists' Books and Looking In and Looking Out with the resource of the State Library of Queensland prospective Online Artists' Book Collection to achieve Level 5 and 6 Visual Arts outcomes. The theme is based on Identity and the work is presented as an Artist Book.

Description

This four to six week unit attempts to use our school's integration of computers in art with the use of Photoshop Essentials software into a greater coherent whole and extend the students' self concept and awareness of social & cultural issues. By referring to the State Library of Queensland Artists' Books Collection, they are also exploring a variation on public art in their own community then extending this format to global collections.
